In 2001, The Oldham County Board of Education purchased the former Crestwood Baptist Church on Floydsburg Road in Crestwood for the purpose of developing the Oldham County Schools Arts Center. The Arts Center is truly a unique institution that provides arts and cultural opportunities to nurture its students and the community at large. Operating as a visual and performing arts school for our students and our community, the Arts Center has proven to be highly effective in providing arts education for everyone.
The Arts Center is home to the School For The Arts, Arts Academy, Performance Series, Adult and Community Education Program, and the Oldham County Resource Center. The Arts Center is also home to many community arts organizations, artist residencies, and other partnerships – creating a hub for specialized instruction that capitalizes on the wealth of talent and knowledge coming from Oldham County.

In addition to arts education, there are many scheduled events and concerts that span the entire year – including our highly acclaimed Performance Series. This series includes the region’s top jazz, classical, pop, and folk artists, dance troupes, and theatre professionals. The Performance Series offers a unique opportunity for Oldham County and Greater Louisville arts lovers to experience world-class entertainment in a relaxed and convenient setting. Community members also have the chance to view some of the finest regional works in the Anita Davis Art Gallery.
